C harlestown Beach doesn’t welcome dogs, but there are some spectacular dog-friendly beaches near Charlestown for owners and their playful pooches to enjoy all year round. Hemmick Beach is a lovely sandy stretch, located to the west of Dodman Point on the Roseland Peninsula. You’ll find a National Trust car park about a 10-minute walk away, which puts most people off, so you can usually enjoy this beautiful stretch of coast away from the crowds.
